Signature Resizing — FAQs
What is the standard signature size for government exam forms?
The most common signature specification is 140 x 60 pixels at 10-20 KB (used by SSC, IBPS, SBI and many others). Some exams differ — RRB uses 240 x 80 px (20-30 KB), UPSC accepts up to 300 KB. Open your exam page from the directory for the exact preset.
How should I capture my signature?
Sign with a black or blue ball pen on plain white paper, then photograph it from directly above in good light, or scan it at 200 DPI. Crop close to the signature before uploading — the clean-up slider will turn the paper pure white.
What does the background clean-up slider do?
It whitens light pixels (paper, shadows) and darkens the ink, producing the clean white-background signature that exam portals expect. Increase the slider until shadows disappear but the ink stays solid.
Why is my signature rejected on the portal?
Common reasons: wrong dimensions, file size outside the allowed range, a grey/shadowed background, or signing in capital letters (most portals require your running signature, not block letters). This tool fixes the first three automatically.
Can I resize a signature for a specific exam?
Yes — every exam page on this site has the signature preset built in. Find your exam in the directory and the correct width, height and KB range are pre-filled.
